21 February 2010, 13:24 minimicrite Check out filmforclassics.com. I have an old Bessa that takes 616 film, and was lucky enough to have an old photographer give me two rolls of color print for it. I've never seen anyone else who's selling 616, though. Maybe find an outdated roll on eBay, and re-use the spool & paper, and re-roll 120 onto it? It won't be as wide, but it would take neat, HUGE panoramics!

OK, I'm looking in McKeown's Cameras and yours looks closest to the 1935 Bessa
model pictured there. Does regular 120
rollfilm fit in this? That is the one size of
rollfilm that is still fairly easy to find.
This isn't a true "rangefinder"
since the focus is by guesstimating.

Here's a Bessa that I think is just a couple years younger
than yours, listed as taking 120 film, so I
think you're in luck.
Go to B & H and search for "120 film" (sort
from cheapest upwards) to get an idea of what
120 emulsions are still available.
23 February 2010, 09:32 willsfca hi there, i was out of the country and just got back home. this one looks a little different than mine, which uses 120 film. 120 film's still pretty easy to get online, and even from some local pro photo stores. like vox said b&h probably has the most 120 film selections. good luck!

24 February 2010, 17:15 Anole Sadly, it takes 620 film. :-(
24 February 2010, 19:16 Voxphoto The only difference between 120 and 620 is that 620 is on a skinnier metal spool. In a few cameras you get lucky and a 120 spool fits anyway. Or if you have a spare 620 spool, you can re-spool a 120 roll yourself in a dark room/closet. Or buy re-rolled film from Film for Classics.
25 February 2010, 16:28 best4_3 fantastic, hope you have fun with your pa's camera =)

26 February 2010, 10:06 Jackie Baisa ~ Seattle Photographer Nice one. :-) The one I photographed was not mine (although I have one that is similar that belonged to my grandparents, which I have NOT yet tried to use, but will). The one pictured belongs to my boyfriend's father, who collects antique photo equipment.
26 February 2010, 11:53 Muddyrabbit Were you able to shot it yet? The advice on the 620 is the way to go. But you can alway's run 35 throught it , just make sure to tape of the vewing window on the back. For a 6X6 framing it's about 30'cms so about two turnes of the knob.. Good luck .
27 February 2010, 09:04 B. Kyle Watson Photography Same thing happened to me a few years ago. I also received my grandparants camera and its a very similar model.
